This portrait was commissioned by the father of the three kids pictured as a birthday gift for his wife. It is rather large, at four feet wide. My client wanted something a bit more modern than the traditional portrait of his daughters, so I took photos of each of the girls in different environments as research. I then put each of these environmental photos together and sketched them to form a cohesive portrait of the three, but still painted them in the coloring and backgrounds from their original snapshots.
